I am directed by the Executive Committee of the

League of Nations Union to forward to you the following

resolution which was adopted at a recent meeting of the

Committee:-

"The Executive Committee of the League of Nations Union wishes to express its appreciation of the recent steps taken by His Majesty's Government and by the Governor of Hong-Kong to deal with the evils of the Mui Tsai system in that colony, and welcomes particularly the proposal to appoint an inspector especially for Mui Tsai. The Executive Committee trusts that the vigilance of His Majesty's Government in this connection will not be relaxed."

A copy of this resolution has also been forwarded to the

Foreign Secretary.

The Rt. Hon. Lord Passfield, Colonial Office.
